Received the items in a well packaged envelope. I think it should be noted that these filters give a modest result, and don't give an exaggerated result. They appeared to be new.(some others stated that they looked used). Each does what it is designed to do. They enhance the photos and don't change them. Plus, with the expensive lenses I have, they provide protection from scratches and possible breakage if dropped.
Do not be fooled by the implication that the Tiffen Digital Ultra Clear is somehow better than a standard UV filter or a higher end filter. I got horrible glare from the filter, the same as I got with the UV Protector. At the end of the day, both are cheap filters and should not go any any lens if image quality is important. I have since learned that multi-coated filters are the way to go and I went with B+W MRC filters due to the higher quality and outstanding reputation.
Quarters are at about 1:1.40 ratio with the +7 combo. at first I thought I was losing some money because I knew I could have gotten a similar set for about $10 but then I just noticed that amazon sells them for $40 so hurray for me.Now a review on the filters themselves. OK, I bought these close up lenses for $20 form a local shop. I am using a very old manual 35-105 macro with a 2x tele-converter. All three seem to work exceptionally well individually and in any combination covering a magnifying range of +1, +2, +3, +4, +5, +6, and +7. For macro photography, I feel that +6 gives me a pretty good 1:1 ratio for objects about dime sized. sure this route might be slow, but the hole package has cost me less than $90 and gives me better picture quality than an equivalent macro lens. The only other thing I would have liked to see was a +6 or +10 magnifier also included, not that I need the extra blow up capability rather the idea of using less glass yo achieve that magnification and the option to ditch the tele converter and speed up my lens would have been nice. Not really Tiffen's problem, more mine because I don't want to buy a nice fast macro lens.Overall a great product
Using this linear polarizer together with a circular polarizer (same brand) to create a -2EV variable neutral density filter. The camera can focus through them if the circular is mounted first. Works fine and the threads are of good fit and quality.
This is a great filter. It will make your photos look better and sharp. I highly recommend this filter.
